Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA) and Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency (NRSA) of the Republic of Tajikistan from 13 to 15 August 2018 organized joint meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan attended by Ministry of Health, State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry (SAEPF) and Chu Ecological Laboratory (CHEL) from Kyrgyzstan; State Inspection “Sanoatgeokontexnazorat” and Institute of Nuclear Physics from Uzbekistan; Ministry of Energy (MoE), Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control (CAESC), and Nuclear Technology Safety Center (NTSC) from Kazakhstan; Society for Development of Scientific Cooperation (SODESCO) and NRSA from Tajikistan.
The objective of workshop was to discuss current regulatory situation in radiation and nuclear safety in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Explore implementation of earlier developed documents within cooperation with NRPA in years 2009-2016. Discuss the possibilities for new cooperation directions and possible support from NRPA based in the revised Threat Assessment Report from each country.
The next meeting will be in 1st quarter of 2019.
