The seminar was supported by the US DOE and PNNL. 38 participants took part in seminar from Kazakhstan, the USA, Russia.

The main reason of conducting ICP workshops at industrial enterprises is to explain the importance and significance of export control issues to as many people working in the field of uranium production as possible.

Putting ICPs into place is not completely new. One can say that putting ICPs into place in production and industries already has had positive results. At the same time, it is impossible to say that the program is working in full capacity. A lot of time and effort have been spent on creating ICP's here in Kazakhstan ; work in this direction is still proceeding.

Participation of the main ministries and organizations that form the Kazakhstan export control system should help Stepnogorsk Mining and Chemical Combine to form the concept of ICP and to develop their own export control program.
