Nuclear related companies of Spain and Kazakhstan organized and carried out a workshop "Cooperation in a field of peaceful use of atomic energy". The workshop was held in Almaty , Kazakhstan on May 17, 2006.

The Embassy of Spain in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, representatives and specialists of CIEMAT, AGRUPADOS, FORO NUCLEAR, IBERINCO, SOLUZIONA, TECNATOM.

From Kazakhstan :

Kazakhstan Atomic Energy Committee, Nuclear Technology Safety Center, National Nuclear Center (NNC), Institutes of Nuclear Physics and Atomic energy of NNC, KATEP, National Atomic Company "Kazatomprom, MAEC-Kazatomprom, Kazakhstan Nuclear Society.

The goal of the workshop was to establish a systematic dialog, aimed to he development of partnership and cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy. It was agreed that the future activity will be realized in the following areas:

•  Regulator support in Atomic energy - harmonization and upgrade of regylatory documents

•  Fusion - participation in ITER project and experimental program of Kazakhstan tokamak for material science.

•  Nuclear reactors and technologies

•  Ecology and environment protection
