HISTORY
NTSC was created
in November 1997 as an association of experts in all areas of
nuclear and radiation safety and radioactive material handling.
The main goal of the organization is to investigate safety aspects
of nuclear power in the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account
environmental and health impacts in the regions where nuclear
industry is located.

MISSION
Investigations of safety problems of nuclear power utilization within the interests of environment and human health protection in the regions of nuclear power units allocation in the Kazakstan Republic.
ACTIVITY DIRECTION
- Assessment and realization of safety analysis of technologies and facilities connected with nuclear power use, examination of draft and technical documentation in the area of nuclear power use.
- Development, examination and scientific-technical justification of legal and regulatory documentation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear power.
- Analytical support for the safety of existing and future reactors and other nuclear facilities located in Kazakhstan Republic.
- Scientific-technical support for reactor physics and safety, radiation material science, the nuclear fuel cycle, as well as ecological aspects of nuclear energy use and nuclear fuel cycle activities, including environmental monitoring and radiation safety.
- Examination of uranium mining and processing.
- Technical cooperation, including the exchange of information and personnel in the field of nuclear power, reactor physics and radiation material science, radiation ecology, new conversion technologies, and the standardization of technologies and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Organizing of works on the main directions of activity, preparation of reports, publications and other materials.
- Observing the law of intellectual property.
- Selection and assignment of coordinated number of experts to job and to participation in technical consultations in scientific-research organizations and work sites, concerned with the questions of nuclear technology safety.
- Organizing of international conferences, symposiums, meeting in the field of research of nuclear and thermonuclear energetic and nuclear technologies.
