Discussing the following questions:

Task 2, Phase 1: Review of technologies and facilities for sodium draining and the selection of technology. KATEP is the responsible organization and believes that the work will be done by the end of December, beginning of January. The work is 80% complete.

Task 2, Phase 2: Development of technical design documentation for systems and equipment for sodium draining. MAEC has primary responsibility for this phase

STAGE A: Technical Task for the draining project. This task has been completed. The relevant organizations within Kazakhstan have agreed to this task. A description of the facility, labor cost estimation other items enumerated by the task order have been prepared. The work is being translated to English for approval. Only several days are needed to translate.

STAGE B: Development of Quality Assurance Program. Some documents have been prepared, including a general program as well as some local quality assurance programs. NNC has also to submit quality assurance program.

Discussing the following questions:

NDF meeting in JUNE 19-28, 2002.
TECHNICAL MEETING: ANL-W will bring key engineers. Engineers who have not been to Aktau will go for technical tours of the plant and then return to Almaty. In Almaty, the rest of the team will join for lengthier discussions.

January Meeting, January 21-February 1
Decommissioning planning workshop. Kazakhstan asked from more details on the sodium processing facility at that meeting.
